LS Cable & System employees engage directly in community-based CSR activities near business sites. For example, at the Gumi·Indong plant no fewer than 600 employees are currently serving as members of a non-profit organization named ‘Chamsaranghoe’, and at the Donghae plant, 200 employees are participating in the ‘Jeongnanumhoe’. Every month, they visit community orphanages and nursing homes to improve the living environment of the facilities while also organizing birthday parties, sports events, and providing free meal services and even haircuts. The team members also help make Kimchi and support the heating fuel and food expenses of neglected neighbors by collecting spare cash from their salaries.
Furthermore, as a volunteer educational program, LS Cable & System has been conducting a job-schooling program in conjunction with Kangwon National University since 2012. Courses on special industrial and submarine cables have been established for students majoring in Electric & Electronic Engineering or Information Communication Engineering. Graduates of the courses with outstanding records will be preferred when applying for positions at LS Cable & System.
At the end of year, employees hold bazaar sales to raise cash for the poor and neglected in the Anyang district. Also, small sums are automatically deducted from employees’ salaries which are then distributed to regional business sites that use the funds to support the poor in local communities with living expenses, daily necessities and home improvements.
LS Cable & System will continue to contribute to local communities through sincere voluntary projects, and expand its CSR activities for the harmonious development of the company and communities.
